How much does it cost to attend John Wesley U?
Does John Wesley offer federal financial aid?
Yes, we do. The most important step in determining your financial aid is completing your FAFSA form on the FAFSA site.
How do I apply for admission?
What else do I need to do?
Once we have your application, we need your official transcripts so we can evaluate them against our admissions standard. We also need either an SAT or ACT score. International students should send TOEFL scores. At that point, we can move to an admissions decision and notify you. Read more about our easy, five-step admissions process!
How do I get official transcripts sent to John Wesley U?
Use our Transcript Request Form, fill it out, sign and send it to any schools you’ve attended (from high school on). The schools who receive this form will send us your official transcripts, which we keep on file.
Does John Wesley U accept transfer credit?
Yes, we do. Make sure we receive official transcripts from other institutions (high school, tech schools, colleges or universities). We take into consideration military and professional training, plus lifelong learning.
How long has John Wesley U been around?
John Wesley University started in 1903 as People’s Bible College in Greensboro, NC. As John Wesley College, the school moved to our current High Point, NC location in 1980. Read more About John Wesley University.

We offer degree programs ranging from the associate’s to the master’s level within the areas of ministry and management. We offer these programs in a variety of ways: traditional (face-to-face classes), adult degree-completion (one night a week) or online. Check out our Academics F.A.Q. page.

What can I expect for housing at the John Wesley-High Point campus?
When you come to visit, we’ll show you student housing on our beautiful campus. Student housing is designated for single undergraduate students only under the age of 27 and space is limited. You can check us out on our Campus Housing page. If you wish to live on campus, fill out our Housing Application, indicating your preferences, and send in your $100 housing deposit.
Do you have a meal program?
We currently do not, although we are considering what alternatives we can offer you. We do have vending machines. All students in campus housing have full kitchen facilities.
What co-curricular activities are available at the school?
We have NCCAA Division 1 Men’s & Women’s Soccer Teams, Women’s Volleyball, and Women’s Softball, a choir and praise band, Student Ambassadors, and a Men’s and Women’s Leadership Institute. Our students have regular activities planned by Student Services. Our Foundry (student gathering space) allows for games, TV, movies, studying, hanging out and video games. In the area are many opportunities for activities such as biking, hiking, running, golf, volleyball, basketball, kayaking, exercising. Each student enrolled in Physical Education or participating in athletics receives a free membership to the Hartley Drive YMCA.
Besides classes, what other requirements do I have to fulfill?
Every semester, every John Wesley University student attends chapel once a week and completes 16 hours of Community/Christian service.
Will I get less quality education if I take online courses or an entire online program?
Accreditation requirements make sure that online courses or programs allow for as much learning as happens in the classroom. This Introduction to Distance Education document may answer more questions.
How fast can I complete my degree?
That depends on how much credit you transfer in and how many courses you successfully complete each semester. Work well with your academic adviser to create your graduation plan!
