Services at Temple Library
Please ask any of the library staff for help in finding resources or information. If the librarian is not available, you may leave e-mail requests phone requests, or notes requesting further help. There is also an “ask a librarian” link from the library web page.
The library provides a computer lab with Internet. The computer at the front desk area is reserved for searching the automated catalog and for circulation tasks. Wireless internet access is also available throughout the library.
New materials are listed in Library Thing and featured on this page.
Interlibrary loan is available upon request. Let the librarian or staff know the full information about the book or article you need. The library will make every effort to borrow it from another library for your use.
The Temple Library is a member of the Carolinas Theological Library Consortium. You may find a link to the member libraries on this page.
The library also has an institutional membership through High Point Public Library. This provides access to multiple electronic resources.
Library instruction is covered in the College Experience class and often in connection with assignments in other classes. If you feel that you need additional help in using library resources, please don’t hesitate to ask.
The general collection is available for check-out for three weeks. DVDs/Videos circulate for seven days. There is a limit of 10 items that may be checked out at one time. Materials may be renewed one time. Fines accumulate on a per day basis and after three notices fines and a per item charge will be added to your account. If materials are not returned then replacement costs and processing fees will also be billed.
If you live in the area and would like to access to our materials, you need to fill out our user information sheet and pay a $30.00 annual fee. (By the way, the Temple Library is a good place to study and get away from it all for a while. Grab your laptop, use our internet access and have a cup of coffee while you study.)
If you fall in one of the categories listed below, you have free access to materials:
- A currently-registered John Wesley student
- John Wesley faculty and staff (or immediate family – spouse and children)

- Current students or staff with a valid ID from institutions holding membership in the Carolinas Theological Library Consortium
